With a certified double platinum upon the release of her debut album, Money Mondays, it is safe to say that Vanessa Mdee is having a GREAT year!
With more than ten years in the music game, Mdee would pick Monday 29th January 2018 as the official album launch in Nairobi—an evening press conference and later a launch afterparty and album listening session supported by Hennesy, hosted by Sauti Sol’s Chimano and held at Simba Corp Aspire Centre.

The album is an 18-track project featuring new songs including ‘Unfollow’, ‘Kwangu Njoo’ and ‘African Hustle.’
With an intended collaboration spotlight, the album delves into a rich pan African bank with notable collaborations with Radio & Weasel (Uganda), Joh Makini and G Nako (Tanzania), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Reekado Banks (Nigeria) and Swedish-Congolese star, Mohombi.
Her previous hit songs like ‘Kisela’ featuring Mr.P, ‘Nobody But Me’ with South African rapper, K.O, ‘Juu’ with Juma Jux who accompanied her at the launch and her latest release, ‘Bounce’ featuring Maua Sama and Tommy Flava also make the cuts in the debut album.
“I have been working on my album for over five years now and this feels like the right time for me and my fans. I wanted to give my fans the best-a record that will both entertain and inspire, so I am very excited to see this come to pass,” an overwhelmed Vanessa Mdee adds.

Her rigorous media tour across the region has also seen Vanessa Mdee release ‘Bomb’, yet another mega collaboration from the album but only available on the Vee Money app, features Jamaican Dancehall King, Konshens.
If you are a diverse Vanessa Mdee fan, this album is quite the justice. Heck, Vee also can spit some heavy punch lines! It is a rich album, full of progressive sounds and a must have for any music lover.
