Feel free to mix up these veggies with your favourites and add some fruits to enhance colour & taste, you can also add some hummus and other dipping sauces in the bowls instead of more veggies, its all up to you & what you want to treat your guests with.

If you’re a cheese lover like myself, then a Christmas theme cheese platter will do wonders for your and your friends/ Decorate the various cheeses (you only need to buy 2 packs) in the shape of a pine tree and separate the layers of cheese with fruit pairings that will balance out the cheeses and the fruits, oh and some crackers just in case!

Now to balance out the palate, create these cute little santas with strawberry and whipped cream, simply cut the leaves of the strawberry, cut it in half, fill the flat side with cream and top it off with the other half of the strawberry that has the tip! You can use pepper balls to make the eyes, it also adds some spice and crunch to the dish, yum!

Next Up, you need to entertain, so have some Christmas Games ready to go for you and your guests, here are some ideas –

Santas Pictionary, simply get some pieces of paper and stick them on your wall, divide your guests into two teams, without speaking each team member has a chance to go head to head with the other teams chosen member and must draw something that reminds them of Christmas, their team has to guess what it is before the other team/ First team to guess correctly wins! Trust me this get very competitive, especially after a glass of wine or two.

Secret Santa – Get everyone into the Christmas spirit and in the spirit of giving by doing a secret santa! Though this does work best with a tight group of friends, its still a grand gesture that will be sure to get everyone feeling good.

Here is how it works –

Put everyones name is a box and mix them up, then your guests will pick a name out that box whichever name they get, they will need to get them a small gift,

Last but definitely not least, booze booze booze, the cheapest way I think to have your guests over without breaking the bank is by buying in bulk/ For wine don’t get bottles, get boxes, you can get one red and one white, for more heavier alcohol, try creating punches or pre-made cocktails so that you can moderate how much of your alcohol is being consumed and how much you can spare for later.

Ingredients –

  • 4 (32 ounces) cups cranberry juice
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 bottle (750ml/25.4 ounces) sparkling apple cider
  • 2 liters ginger ale (stoney)
  • 1 cup Vodka
  • Orange slices and fresh cranberries for garnish
