Together they performed at social and corporate events across Kenya giving Tatu experience and high proficiency as a performing artist. In the year 2011 she was contracted by Safaricom limited as a backup vocalist for the Niko Na Safaricom project. She had the privilege to perform as a backup vocalist for the likes of Jaguar, Camp Mulla, Jimmy Gait, alongside other high profile artists in Kenya. In 2013 she was promoted to lead singer of the Tutu Band which had then rebranded to Swahili Jazz Band. Together with the Swahili Jazz Band Tatu embarked on creation of their own musical compositions, this has been a successful venture since they were nominated as the only Kenyan representative for the Safaricom International Jazz Festival in 2014 and 2015, due to the authenticity of their sound.

The songs Lazaro and Makande featuring Jimmy Dludlu which Tatu leads are timeless and get very positive response and feedback whenever they perform. Tatu is at the moment working on her first album to be released early 2016.
