In an entertaining weekend, Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards over the weekend shared spoils in a blunder filled derby.


Defensive errors from both ends was enough to ensure the two teams share spoils, 1-1 at the Nyayo national stadium on Sunday.

Defensive blunders from both sides would see two goals scored in a span of 15 minutes. First off, Gor captain Musa Mohamed, who scored into his own net in the 22nd minute before Meddie Kagere capitalised on Musa Mudde’s poor defending to equalise.

Despite the draw, Dylan Kerr coached Gor are still six points clear (44 points) at the top of the Kenyan Premier League. The derby was Kerr’s first since he joined the team.

Speaking after the game, Leopards coach, Robert Matano also on his first derby, expressed confidence in the team finishing a top 10 photo finish while Kerr felt the 15-times champions were a shadow of themselves.

Title rivals Sofapaka and Posta Rangers match also ended in a 1-1 draw in Narok on Saturday. In another Kenya Premier League roundup, Bandari FC and Mathare FC also drew on Sunday, 2-2.
