Trace Urban recently launched three African music channels on DSTV ; Trace Africa, Trace Naija and Trace Mziki targeting Eastern Africa market. With the latest rise in quality and number of music videos from East Africa, Trace Muzik, Channel 323 on DSTV seeks to showcase the best in contemporary East African music.
The Channel will feature music hits in Hip Hop, R&B, Afro Pop, Gospel, Reggae , video mixes from the regions most sought after DJs as well as documentaries from artists across the region as well as international urban acts popular in East Africa. West Africa and Southern Africa also landed similar channels ‘Trace Naija’ and Trace Africa which will also feature the best in Afrobeats, Kwaito and the wider African music.
Both channels are expected to feature already existing Trace model shows like ‘Focus’ ‘Guest Star’, Urban Gossip and Top 1o themed programming. The launch went down in Nairobi’s B- Club a few days ago and was graced by regional celebrities like Ommy Dimpoz, Prezzo, Shaffie Weru, Joy Wayodi and many more.
Kenya is already reaping big with DJ Joe Mfalme landing a slot on the new channel. He will run an hour long pre corded show every Saturday. Sauti Sol, Khaligraph Jones, Octopizzo, Phy and Dela are some of the artists that have had their latest videos premiered on Trace Mziki.
