Tory Lanez debut album ‘I Told You’ dropped Friday August 19th, the same day the ghost of Frank Ocean awakened from a four year silence to deliver a mind blowing visual album ‘ Endless’ on Apple Music. While many would call it coincidence, a large portion of the tweets  flooding from the weekend points to a possible Drake involvement in the double album release.

Drake and Tory Lanez (both from Canadian city Toronto christened ‘the 6’ by Drizzy) have been beefing for a while, occasionally throwing jabs at each other in tracks and tour concerts. The beef started off when Tory twitted that calling Toronto ‘the 6’ -something Drake has been using for the longest time- was not cool, calling the term ”kinda corny”. The latest incident being Tory’s ‘Controlla’ remix that many think is better than Drake’s original version.

Drake has one of the biggest deals with Apple Music which interestingly released the Frank Ocean visual – live streamed album same day Tory Lanez released his much awaited debut album after a series of singles, mixtapes, delays and a strenuous promotional tour. The release date was pretty much in the open and many think Drake might have taken advantage of that, pulled some strings and had Frank Ocean go head to head with Tory. In the most competitive music industry and amidst all the music streaming war , you need all the attention you can get when you drop an album, from blog headlines to reviews etc, but look around, everybody is talking about Frank Ocean!
