Drake has had an outstanding year: he looks relentless in making it his busiest one. During the Summer Sixteen tour stop, Drizzy revealed that he has a mixtape in the works.

“Protect yourself and everyone around you and spread love, spread good energy. What I saw tonight was a beautiful building of beautiful people from all races and all places,” he said. “And I want you to protect yourselves and each other, so that, when I go work on this new mixtape and come back to Kansas City and I drop that shit, I wanna see everybody in this motherfucker, boy!”

Drake has already promised his fans a joint EP with Gucci Mane. ‘Views’ is already a classic – going for 12+ weeks on Billboard 200. If Drake drops both projects before December, he’ll  be riding high on a league of his own. While a mixtape is a creative outlet for Drake, he has had credibility issues and ‘Views’ was critically panned. A new mixtape might just be the perfect space to prove to the dedicated Hip Hop listeners, that he still has his stripes. Drake has the numbers, but I don’t think  he’s ready for the ‘peak Drake’ to be over, after all chart success are short lived.
